Bike to work..
Bike to work is become phenomenon in this recent year. The people who doing this activity unite and build some community namely Bike to work community. This community spread over the big city like Surabaya, Jakarta, Makassar, Bandung, Medan etc. Go to Office by Bike not motor cycle or car is great idea, but it has two sides, the advantages and disadvantages.
I think bike to work is fit for the employees who stay near to the office. To pedal the bike is need a lot of energy and slower than ride the motor vehicle. The times that require attending to the office become longer if the distance is so far. We consider also about the traffic in the city that become crazy like in the jungle, who are the stronger and the faster will be the winner. Big truck container, big buses, fast motor rider will be our rival in the road. As we know, the discipline of our road user is very little and dangerous for our life. We must think one hundred of times to pedal the bike in the jungle of the road because expose by high risk that threaten our live.
The positive side of biking in the city go to the office is about to support the green environment. As commonly knows, our earth today suffer from global warming. Our earth get coughs by the smokes that mainly produce by the motor vehicle. The sales of motor cycle and car growing rapidly and fulfill the entire of the street. The need of gasoline or fossil’s fuel increase year by the year. The money or the cost is also high. By bike to work, we go to office in friendly manner for the continuity of our earth, oil reserve and off course saving our money.
I agree with the idea of bike to work but in some circumstances. We must solve some problem of our culture of riding that mention in the two paragraphs. The campaign of responsible riding like in Surabaya is very good and must be continue in the future. The bike line also can be providing like in the other country for ensure our safety in biking in the city. While we are waiting for this facilities, we can begin to bike in the near area of our home. If we want go to office, we can do in the early in the morning, so the traffic not very crowded, and we can get fresh air.
